The center covers an area of 2,900 square meters. In the first phase, with investment of more than 20 million yuan, it has built simulated operating room, simulated labor room, simulated ICU, simulated ward, minimally invasive skill training room, clinical basic skill training room, standardized clinic, discussion and evaluation room, multi-functional classroom, central control room. There are more than 300 teaching and training equipment models such as automatic delivery, laparoscopic virtual training system, cardiopulmonary resuscitation model, anesthesia machine, multi-function operating table and TV camera system.

The center is able to extensively conduct training and assessment on basic clinical skills (first aid skills, surgical skills, nursing skills, basic operational skills) and specialist technical skills (gynaecology and obstetrics skills, neonatal clinical skills). For clinicians at all levels, nursing staff, medical students, community preventive health personnel, it carries out relevant teaching and training to improve clinical comprehensive ability and clinical thinking ability, improve clinical diagnosis and treatment. In addition, in the future development, the center strives to build a training course and evaluation system with special features such as multi-disciplinary rescue in obstetrics and gynecology to improve communication skills, recognition ability, clinical disposition ability and teamwork ability, ability to achieve improved quality of care, improve clinical outcomes, and ensure maternal and child safety through training.

The center has established stable international exchanges and cooperation with the DACCPM Stimulated Training Center of the Massachusetts General Hospital, the CAPE Training Center of Stanford University, and the Maternal Medical Training Center of Toronto, Canada, and regularly hold relevant training, mutual visits and learning. The center is built to become an important training base for obstetrics and gynaecology at the national and international levels. It has become a training institution for some designated courses at home and abroad, and continuously provides high-level excellent doctors for clinical practice.
