Chinese Hospitals Rankings (specialized departments) by Fudan University has been released! Shanghai First Maternity and Infant Hospital has entered the top 10 Obstetrics and Gynecology Department for the first time!

On November 17, 2018, the Hospital Management Institute of Fudan University released the '2017 Chinese Hospital Rankings (specialized departments)'. The Fudan version of the Chinese hospital rankings has been released for continuous 9 years. This year is the first time that Shanghai First Maternity and Infant Hospital ranked the top ten of obstetrics and gynecology.
Chinese hospital specialized department rankings is a significant highlight this year. In the past, only 'scientific research' score (i.e., reputation accounting for 80% and scientific research accounting for 20%) was included in the ranking list, while only reputation of specialized hospitals was included. In addition to the reputation ranking of the 40 specialties this year, there is also a comprehensive ranking of the specialties, which means that the reputation score reviewed by experts is adjusted from 100% to 80%, and the remaining 20% is assigned to the scientific research conducted by the specialty in 2017.
This part of scientific research score consists of the scientific research input of this discipline in the National Natural Science Foundation of China and national major scientific research projects in 2017, as well as the scientific research output of the scientific research papers and technological achievements in 2017.
As can be seen from the data of the ranking list, the standardized scientific research value of our hospital is particularly outstanding which is a reward for our comprehensive strength and scientific research level. In the STEM which released in the end of 2017, Shanghai First Maternity and Infant Hospital has entered top ten at the first time as well. All these means the hospital scientific research is very strong, the brand influence, the scientific and technological influence expands unceasingly.
Shanghai First Maternity and Infant Hospital was established in 1947. After more than 70 years' ups and downs, it has developed into a 3-A-Class Obstetrics and Gynecology specialized hospital with a high reputation in the nationwide. In recent years, we have made great progress in scientific research, discipline construction and talent training, and have made many historic breakthroughs. In particular, the number of projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China jumped from 1(2009) to 23(2017). It is worth mentioning that our hospital has achieved great achievements again this year, and won totally 31 project grants. With the continuous improvement of scientific research level, the number and quality of SCI published papers are also rising. In 2017, the latest Nature Index entered the national top 100, ranking 29 which is the first among the domestic obstetrics and gynecology hospitals.
The vision of the Shanghai First Maternity and Infant Hospital is to build a national first-class maternity hospital and a national first-class obstetrics and gynecology discipline. Recently, the hospital also launched the establishment of a national civilized unit. Everyone will contribute to help the 'Healthy China' with better appearance, services and achievements.
