Specialities
The main programmes carried out in the Radiology Department of the Eastern Hospital are:

Diagnostic aspects: Diagnostic imaging and interpretation of routine radiographs (with emphasis on mammography and hysterosalpingography), CT and MRI. The Department of Radiology undertakes diagnostic imaging and consultation for difficult cases throughout the country, focusing on obstetrics and gynaecology, neonates, foetus, mammary gland and ground-glass lung nodules, etc, with emphasis on hysterosalpingography, CT/MRI diagnostic imaging in obstetrics and gynaecology and neonatology, localisation and qualitative diagnosis of female abdominal and pelvic neoplasms, as well as diagnostic and differential diagnosis of benign and malignant pathologies, and MRI diagnostic consultation of the foetus (head, thorax, abdomen, pelvis, limbs and joints, etc.).

Interventional diagnosis and treatment: We currently perform vascular and non-vascular interventions for obstetric and gynaecological conditions. Vascular interventions include minimally invasive procedures for antepartum and postpartum hemorrhage, incision pregnancy, uterine arteriovenous malformation, uterine leiomyoma and adenomyomatous disease, tumour embolism, PORT implantation and pelvic venous stasis syndrome. Currently, non-vascular interventional treatments mainly include Selective Salpingography (SSG) and Fallopian Tube Recanalisation (FTR) for non-invasive evacuation of tubal infertility and non-invasive tubal occlusion for infertile patients with tubal hydrosalpinx prior to IVF-ET embryo implantation. We perform non-invasive tubal occlusion embolization to improve the success rate of embryo transfer and conception rate in patients with hydrosalpinx.

The Radiology Department at Western Hospital currently performs routine X-rays, mammograms, hysterosalpingograms (HSG) and routine CT and MRI scans.

Shanghai First Maternity and Infant Hospital is striving to create a national first-class obstetrics and gynaecology hospital, Radiology set of medical imaging diagnosis and intervention as a whole, medical, teaching, research and comprehensive development, perspective health, guarding life, for the Women's and Infant Hospital to help add colour to the take-off of the hospital.
