Integrated TCM &WM Department

In principle of “integrated syndrome differentiation, combination of prevention and treatment, inheriting the quintessence of the Chinese culture and the integration of Chinese and Western cultures”, the Integrated TCM&WM Department carries forward the essence of traditional medicine in the motherland, organically integrates with modern medicine and steps on the unique path of new Chinese medicine in our hospital. To adapt to the demands of clinic and patients,the Chinese medicine department has also developed a variety of dosage forms such as granules, nourishing creams and pills, and carried out acupuncture and cupping, fumigation physiotherapy, acupoint application, dialysis enema, etc. in addition to providing traditional Chinese medicine decoction for oral administration and a variety of "simple and inexpensive"featured treatments to improve the content of Chinese medicine treatment in our hospital. The Integrated TCM&WM Department draws on the essence of diagnosis and treatment of "integrated concept" and "dialectical treatment" of traditional Chinese medicine, putsequal importance on prevention and treatment of diseases and advocates the idea of "prevention before disease onset, prevention of lesion after disease onset". The department is adept atvarious "sub-health" status. The Integrated TCM&WM Department links with Assisted Reproductive Department, combines traditional Chinese medicine treatment of infertility with long history and IVF, treats recurrent transplantation failure, improves premature ovarian failure, prevents and treats recurrent miscarriage. The Department is also good at treating various menstrual disorders, PCOS, and perimenopausal syndrome caused by endocrine disorders as well as pelvic inflammatory disease, endometriosis (dysmenorrhea), uterine fibroids, ovarian cysts and other symptoms. It has opened a number of special clinics such as “Traditional Chinese Medicine Special Treatment Clinic”, “Traditional Chinese Medicine ART Clinic”, “Postpartum TCM Clinic”, “Menopathy TCM Clinic”, and “Fetus Protection TCM Clinic”.
The department has 1 chief physician (academic leader in talent introduction), 5 deputy chief physicians, 5 attending physicians, and 2 resident physicians; including 1 doctoral supervisor, 3 doctors, 1 doctoral and 6 masters. It has undertaken 2 projects of the Young Scientific Fund ofNFSC, 2 major projects of the Shanghai Municipal Health and Family Planning Commission for Integrated TCM&WM, and 1 project of the Shanghai Municipal Science and Technology Commission. It published 3 papers on statistical sources and won 1 Shanghai Integrated TCM&WM Association Award.
