Breast Surgery Department
The Breast Surgery Department integrates comprehensive diagnosis and treatment for patients with breast diseases, breast health care, breast cancer screening, breast cancer postoperative reconstrution, and psychological counseling in order to provide personalized, professional and systematic diagnosis and treatment services for breast disease patients.
The Breast Surgery Department has a faculty team composing of highly skilled professional physicians, including 1 chief physician, 3 deputy chief physicians, 5 attending physicians, and 3 resident physicians. Among them, there are8 Doctors of Medicine,1 doctoral candidates and 1 Master of Medicine. In recent years, more than 60 papers on breast disease research and five medical books have been published. The department hasmany professional equipments such as mammography, color ultrasound, breast tube endoscopy, magnetic resonance imaging, etc.Various types of breast surgery are carried out in the Department, includingradical mastectomy, breast-conserving surgery, sentinel lymph node biopsy, intraoperative and postoperative reconstruction of breast cancer (Phase I, Phase II plastic surgery), micro-invasive surgery for benign breast disease, etc. Chemotherapy, endocrine therapy, targeted therapy and other comprehensive treatment are also provided in the Department. In the meanwhile, more than 10 scientific research projects on breast diseases in Shanghai, and 5 international multi-center clinical trials of breast cancer and national clinical randomized controlled research collaboration group on breast cancer treatment have been undertaken. The director of the department is a Visiting scholar of UCLA Breast Center in the United Statesand AKH Breast Center in Austria.The members of the Department are jointly trained by the UCLA and Mayo Center in the United States, as well as Visiting Scholars of European, American and Hong Kong Breast Centers. The department has advanced treatment concepts and stays in line with the world.
